Frequently Asked Questions
1.) Now that I am enrolled, which classes can I (or my child) attend?
All our students are placed into different "sash level". All beginner students will receive a yellow sash on their first day of class along with their uniform and thus are designated yellow sash. Beginner students are allowed to attend any classes labeled "yellow" on the schedule. The schedule can be viewed HERE. Exceptions to this will be allowed, if we feel a student isnt be challenged enough in the lower level classes.
2.) Can I attend the weapon classes?
Starting Fall 2019, we have some new changes when it comes to weapon class. In the interest of building up strong fundamentals, students who are yellow and blue sash must receive approval by all 3 Wushu coaches to attend any of the weapon classes. Coaches will be weekly to discuss requests. Please send an email to nemawushu@gmail.com with subject "Weapon Class Request". Furthermore, in the interest of safety weapon classes will be limited to 12 students maximum. Students must select a weapons class upon enrollment, and they will be assigned that class for the rest of the session. Make up if you miss your session may be allowed, please email us at nemawushu@gmail.com to disucss this.
Red sash and up students will not be attending a separate weapons class, as weapons will be covered in their Red (and higher) level classes.
3.) How do i redeem a discount?
Discounts are redeemed differently based on how you wish to pay.
IMPORTANT: payment must be received before the end of the discount to be redeemed. Filling out the registration form before the end date to discount period DOES NOT guarantee any discount.
If paying by CHECK/PAYPAL/VENMO/CASH payment: Discounts can just be reflected in the paid amount.
If paying via Online Virtual Terminal: Payment of tuition and fees through our secure virtual terminal requires a discount code applied to the shopping cart upon checkout. Specific codes will be sent via email and should be displayed on the website if applicable.
4.) What is the performance team? How do I join?
Our performance team is a class limited to only green sash and up students and 12 students (per class) who are selected via an audition. This class is meant to be our academy's main performance group and will be the primary group to perform at all our public and local events. The opportunity to perform at various events will still be open to other students, but preparation for non performance team members will be much less formal. Our performance team, entails a whole separate new Wushu curriculum altogether and students will explore, learn and perform a lot of less commonly seen forms, skills and weapons. Performance class comes at an extra tuition of 250$ per 4 months for those selected onto the team and already a active member (enrolled in unlimited or limited) at the academy.
5) How to book a private class?
The fastest and quickest way to book a private is via our online booking method. You can visit www.newushu.com/book to book a private! We also except email booking, we require up to 24 hours to book a private via email.
